My BB Cream Collection

Hello my Wonderlandians!

I  know I have gone missing for a bit these last couple weeks, however I am back and whilst I cannot promise a day with regular postings yet, know that I will do all in my power to at least have a post up per week. Once I have my schedule down and I have settled down to my fullest capacity here in Alaska I hope to have regular postings on Mondays.

I am a big fan of BB creams or Beauty Balms as some people call them. I own 4 different types and each one is good in its own way. I own 2 American brand BB creams, 1 Japanese brand, and 1 Korean brand. I love each of my BB creams a lot, but I would be lying if I said I didn't have a favorite.

These are all the BB creams I own at the moment
The BB creams I own are:
  • Maybelline New York Dream Fresh BB cream (Light/Medium shade)
  • Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm
  • Junkisui BB
  • Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB cream (shade No. 2)
With Flash L-R: Maybelline, Junkisui, Urban Decay, and Holika Holika

W/O Flash L-R: Maybelline, Junkisui, Urban Decay, and Holika Holika
Overall I think that BB creams are a great alternative to using foundation especially if you like a lighter coverage. While there is some heavy coverage BB creams out there I like the light coverage mine offer. I have pretty good skin and therefore do not need heavy coverage foundation, although I do own some for photography purposes. All in all I recommend all these BB creams. If you are looking for very light coverage I would recommend the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream especially in the summer! If you are looking for medium coverage I recommend the Urban Decay Naked Skin BB or the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB cream. And if you want a bit heavier coverage I recommend the Junkisui BB cream.

Which is my favorite you ask?
 - My favorite of all the BB creams I own is hands down the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB cream. It provides just the right amount of coverage and has a cooling effect on your skin. This is my go to BB cream for almost all purposes.

Keep an eye out for the individual reviews!!

Ulta Haul No.1

Hello Wonderlandians!

As you know I have been MIA this past couple weeks. In my defense, however I have been in a rather transitional phase in my life. I have recently moved to Alaska and am only now really situated. Why Alaska you ask? Look forward to my next post ;)
I could not part with California before getting some beauty staples, so I share with you my Ulta Haul. I had  made 2 trips to the Ulta beauty store and let me tell you both times were fun and eventful. The first time I went it was 3 girls and 2 guys luckily I have some awesome guy friends and saw the fun in this adventurous spree. The second time I went was with my lovely sister and afterwards we went to go see a movie, but enough about the days events. Let's get down to what I got those days:

What I got:
  • Maybelline Colorsensational in Hot Plum
  • Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk and Black Bean
  • Nyx Roll On Shimmer in Purple and Sea Foam
  • Nyx Eyeshadow in Aloha
  • Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
  • Real Techniques Makeup Basic Brush Set
I must say that overall I did not spend as much money as I thought I was going to, which I was very happy about. The products I was most excited about were the Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencils and Roll on Shimmer. I have been hearing great things about Nyx and I wanted to see what all the buzz was about. I have used both Jumbo Pencils quite a bit since I first bought them and I must say I am quite pleased with the product.

Look forward to future reviews of these products in detail.

Artzy Nails- Galaxy Nails

Hello fellow Wonderlandians!

Today I will be showing you how to obtain beautiful galaxy nails :)

Here is what you will need:
  • Blue, yellow, white, and glittery nail polish of your choice
  • Bobby pin or dotting tool to make the moon
  • Cotton ball
  • Base and Top coat
Feel free to use whatever colors you have or to take your own spin on it :)

First Step: Put a base coat on your nails.
Second Step: Apply to coats a blue nail polish
Third Step: Grab a cotton ball and tear it in half and dab it in some white nail polish. This will create the clouds on your nails. Do this to all nails or if you want a statement nail do it to a finger of your choice.
I chose to apply it to all my nails.

Fourth Step: Use a dotting tool or end of a bobby pin to dip into yellow nail polish and paint a circle on your finger of choice. This will be the moon in this galaxy design.

As you can see I chose my index finger.
Fifth Step: Take any sparkly nail polish and put on one coat on all nails.
Sixth Step: Apply a top coat and let dry. You can choose to not do this step if you did the step above.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and until next time,

Book Geek ~ Favourite Author

Hello there Wonderlandians!

Today I will be sharing with you one of my favorite authors. Her name is Juliet Marillier and her books always captivate me in the most intricate ways. Her genre is fantasy, her books are often found in the science fiction area in libraries (although I fail to see why). She has written many books and I find myself looking forward to each and everyone.

What I own:
  • The Dark Mirror
  • Heart's Blood
What I have read (in series order):
  •  Book for Young Adults (the books that got me hooked)
    • Wildwood Dancing
    • Cybele's Secret
  • The Sevenwaters Series
    • Daughter of the Forest
    • Son of the Shadows
    • Child of the Prophecy
    • Heir to Sevenwaters
    • Seer of Sevenwaters
    • Flame of Sevenwaters
  • Heart's Blood
Her books always involve a strong female lead and you find yourself getting attached to these characters. Each book has left me in a whirlwind of emotion. I highly recommends these as they are some of my favourite books to read.

If you would like to find out more about Juliet Marillier or her books here is the link to her website:

I wish you all happy readings and until next time!

Drugstore Haul No.1

Hello my fellow Wonderlandians!

The other day after going out with my friends to go see Pacific Rim (great movie by the way, highly recommended), we decided to head into Wal-Mart, because one of my friends needed some things. I managed to get ensnared by the beauty/makeup section... SO I ended up getting a few things. All of them were things I had been eyeing for a couple weeks and finally decided to get. Without further ado...
Here is what I got:
  • Revlon
    • Colorburst Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya
    • Super Lustrous Lipstick in the following:
      • Berry Couture
      • Plum Velour
      • Black Cherry
  •  Rimmel
    • Stay Matte in 001 (a bit paler than my complexion now in the summer but I am moving to Alaska so I thought it best to go with a lighter shade)
    • Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in:
      • 09
      • 12

In the color 001 Transparent

I had originally gone into the beauty section only searching for the Stay Matte powder, because I kept hearing great reviews about this product. I will let you know as soon as I have used this product enough to give you my honest opinion on it. As I was already in the beauty section, however I thought I would look for the Maybelline lipstick in Hot Plum, but there were none. So i went in search for a plum-ish colored lipstick and I think I found that and more. The other lipstick I kept hearing good things about were the Revlon Lip Butters so I grabbed one that caught my fancy.

I look forward to trying these products out and reviewing them for you in future blogs, so keep an eye out!

Not really sure what happened....

Hello my wonderlandians!

Not really sure what happened. As you may know from my previous post I was in an Alaskan Adventure for a couple weeks. I had loads of fun with friends!!! However while I was up there posts should have still been occurring regardless, but they did not and I can no longer find them. Never fear however I am back and I will be posting up those blogs I had promised. Bare with me as I retype them and get them up.

If you would like to see all my beautiful pictures from Alaska you can look forward to them in an upcoming post!

With Love,
