Ipsy Glam Bag Review~ December 2012

Hello my lovely march hares! Today I will be reviewing the December 2012 glam bag for you. I realize this is from way back when, but I honestly had just thought of reviewing them earlier today. From here on out I will review them at the end of the month. This way I have at least a couple weeks to review the products included in the ipsy glam bag. All right now that I have some what explained what I will be doing, I will be moving straight into the review!!

The December glam bag theme was: Holiday Haute!
 What the bag included:
  • Mai Couture- Highlighter Papier
  • NYX- loose pigment (Ultra Pearl Mania)
  • be a bombshell- lipgloss (Hot Mess)
  • Mirabella Prime- face and eye primer
  • Urban Decay- 24/7 glide on eyeliner
Overall I give this bag 5 tarts out of 10

Alice Points:
- I loved the fact that you could create a holiday look with just the contents in the bag
- I loved the variety of items in the bag as well
-The bag itself has also become a staple in my purse. It may look small, but I assure you it can hold a lot more than you would think it did
-Loose pigment, I have actually created quite a few good looks with this loose pigment....but it still leaves a mess....

Red Queen Points:
- Although I quite enjoyed the variety of products in the bag. I do only use 2 of the items on a regular basis (eyeliner and primer).
- Personally I do not really care for loose pigments, because they leave a big mess EVERYWHERE!! So I counted this as a red queen point, but this is just for me personally.

Hope you enjoyed this glam bag review until next time!

Sonnet of Desire...another poem by me...

Sonnet of Desire

He’s an absolutely kind gentleman
Only has eyes for me, and me alone
A rock I lean against to help me stand
His true appearance, to me, he has shown
Mysterious, but kind, and serious
Loves in a surprising unique fashion
Pure of all unruly thought, and curious
Is strong and filled with a sincere passion
Protects my emotions with all his might
Has seen who only I can truly become
Holds me tight ‘til everything’s all right
Can be much more open minded than some
Of course, I have yet to find such a guy
So I will sit here on my chair and sigh

Hope you are enjoying my poetry!! Only doing my part in participating for National Poetry Month ^_^

Summer Memories a poem by me....

Summer Memories

Summer days
Are here to stay
From all those years ago
I recall my melting icicle
From that summer long ago
The sun’s hot rays
And night’s cool winds
From that summer long ago
That scar I got
From falling
Off my favorite tree
I believe it to be Weeping
And I’m sure I named it Willow
The hiking trail
That leads us home
Well, I remember was much longer
Than the one we took to get there
To the park ten blocks away
Or maybe I was tired
Therefore making it much harder
I miss those summers
From all those years ago
Back to when my troubles
Were merely having sticky fingers
From that melting icicle
That summer long ago

A poem I wrote about a year ago that I thought I would share considering summer is fast approaching /^_^)/

New TV Series~ Merlin!!!

I have once again made the mistake of starting a really really amazing TV series in the midst of my school semester when I should be focusing the most...well thank goodness for weekends! And Huzzah for Netflix!

The not-so-new show I have recently started is Merlin. I was hooked by the first episode not to mention I am a sucker for good medieval time based shows or books!!!

In fact as I glance at my bookshelf I can see various stories about Knights and Warriors, Kings and Queens, Adventure and Quests galore.

If any of you are even remotely curious as to what some of those books may be. Here are the first 3 I spotted on my bookshelf:
  1. Alanna the First Adventure by Tamora Pierce
  2. Graceling by Kristin Cashore
  3. Eragon by Chritopher Paolini

Ah le sigh what is to keep me from watching all 52 episodes without mercy???

Well if you don't hear from me in a while, you now know why...

Happy national poetry month....

Nothing says I love poetry quite like having a whole month dedicated to it. Now this doesn't mean you should ignore it all the 11 other months of the year. No it simply means walking around and speaking in prose is only slightly more acceptable (but just as puzzling) as the other months. I personally love poetry and in this day I have decided to share one of my favorite poems:

Dreams
By Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

Nothing beats a spa day...

Hello my wonderfully mad friends!

Nothing quite revitalizes you like a day of leisure. Today I indulged myself on a wonderful stay at home spa day :) I called up one of my best friends and although we live far apart we could not have been closer on this day. We mirrored each others day and enjoyed a wonderful relaxing day.

Here is Home Spa Day Guide for you:

1. Face Mask: I used a BB Hydrating mask i found at the Daiso store in San Francisco. Leaves your face feeling nice and smooth. Aaaaaahhhh #^_^#

2. Hair Soak: I'm not sure where I read this originally, but if you soak your hair (this only applies to dark colored hair) in coffee it revitalizes the hair. So far I find it effective for bringing back some life and color intensity to my hair. Plus it smells like coffee and I love me some coffee \(^.^)/

3. Bath: Fill your tub with hot water and add preferred fragrance. I myself used grapefruit scented bath salts. There is nothing quite like soaking in a bath tub and indulging oneself. No fragrance is needed for the enjoyment and indulgence of oneself!

4. Mani/ Pedi: No spa day would be complete without a good manicure or pedicure. A good way to treat your nails to make them stronger and bring some nutrients into them. Soak them in a bit of Olive Oil. I soak them in olive oil once in a while, to be honest my nails are pretty strong and healthy so i mostly do this during winter when my nails could surely use the boost. (This also applies to hair).

5. Movie w/ *insert favorite snack here*: To complete your day of leisure turn on your T.V. (ipad, ipod, laptop, etc.) and watch a movie. I usually stick with old classics such as: Funny Girl, Breakfast at Tiffany's, or How to Steal a Million. For this day I decided on Les Miserables, the new one with Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Russell Crowe. I loved this movie!!! B.T.W. My favorite snack just happens to be popcorn so befitting don't you think...haha...^o^

Hope you enjoyed this How-To Spa Day Blog! Stay tuned for my next blog /^3^)/

Simple Everyday look and review /^_^)/

Hello my mad friends and welcome to another blog post by yours truly. Today I will be showing you my simple everyday makeup look using mostly all drugstore products. I will also take this blog and write a short 'review' of sorts on the products I used.

Here are the items I will be using:
Pacifica:Tuscan Blood Orange (body butter)-
This is a great way to start of your morning. The wonderful citrus fragrance makes it easier to get up in the mornings and much more bearable to leave the comfort of your pillows. It leaves your skin feeling nice and smooth and the nice citrus smell tends to linger on the skin. Aaahhh refreshing!!!I got this in the January 2013 Glam bag from www.ipsy.com

EOS: Sweet Mint-
Before I begin any of my makeup I usually take my EOS lip-balm and moisturize my lips, because no one likes cracked lips.I am actually slightly obsessed with these I own 6 of them currently...teehee... well you can never have too many lip balms...or so I say.

Maybelline: Dream Fresh BB cream-
Although initially I was disappointed in this product, I have actually come to love it. Although it does not provide much coverage it does help even out my complexion and provides protection. As Spring begins here and the days get warmer I prefer having sunscreen on my face over anything else and this lets me have a bit of coverage whilst protecting me from the rays of the hot sun.

Eye Brow Pencil: Daiso-
I am actually not quite sure what this product is called as it is in Japanese. I found this eyebrow pencil at the Daiso store in San Francisco. A great store to check out if you get the chance. I actually don't usually need to draw in eyebrows, in all actuality I only fill in some gaps I have in my eyebrows. I naturally have pretty full brows so I don't do much with them except upkeep them.

Lime Crime: Eyeshadow Helper-
This is one of the items in this makeup look that is not a drugstore product. I love this primer and if any of you keep up with Lime Crime at all you will notice that I actually have the old one. They have upgraded both the packaging and formula. I will put a pic below of what the product looks like now.  Feel free to use your own eye primer, this just happens to be the one I have.

CoverGirl: Eye Enhancers 3-Kit Shadows (cafe au lait)-
I love these colors! They are great for everyday wearable makeup. I keep these in my purse for on-the-go makeup. Easily blended colors that go with almost every outfit. The only bad thing I have to say about this kit is that I really dislike the applicator it is to rough on my eyelids and I prefer to use my fingers.

Urban Decay: 24/7 Eye Pencil (black)-
This is the other non-drugstore product I am showing you today. I love this eyeliner it goes on smoothly and stays put throughout the day. Sharpening it can be a pain, but it's worth it for this product. I actually got this in the December 2012 glam bag from www.ipsy.com

Maybelline: The Colossal Volum' Express Mascara-
This is one of my favorite mascaras to use. I have a hard time finding mascara that makes my eyelashes look fuller. This mascara does it for me. I apply one coat for a fresh look and apply two coats to add in some drama. I do curl my lashes before applying mascara...

Maybelline: Dream Bouncy Blush (rose petal)-
I am in love with these blushes. I love the consistency of  the product and it is easy to blend. This is such an easy product to work with. i own both the Rose Petal shade and the Hot Tamale shade. Adding blush to your look freshens up the face and brings some life into your face.

That is my simple makeup look. I hope you enjoyed!!!
Hope you all have a wonderfully marvelous spring break!
My goal this Spring Break is to post one blog entry per day...So stay tuned!!!
