Hairspiration No.4~ Poseidon/Aquamarine Review

Hello Wonderlandians,

As you have already seen from some of my latest post, I am no longer blonde :)

I have jumped into having blue hair and I once again used the Arctic Fox hair dyes. This time I took Poseidon and Aquamarine as the main stars!

This was taken approximately a day after dyeing my hair. At the roots of my hair we used a mixture of Poseidon, Purple Rain and a drop of Violet Dream (accidental, I was trying to put in Purple Rain). Purple Rain was added in to try and darken up Poseidon a bit, it was effective. At the ends of my hair I put in Aquamarine.

Most of the pictures I take/took don't really capture the difference between the two shades, but I assure you there is a definite difference.

This picture I took recently, and I'm almost at 1 month (I have like 3 days to go). Poseidon is fading rather quickly, whilst Aquamarine looks almost as vibrant as the day I put it in. Like I mentioned in my Arctic Fox Hair Dye review, I believe there are other factors to consider. I was trying out a new dry shampoo at the time and I was washing my hair a little more frequently, because of how warm it has been in California.

Sorry for the lack of pictures in this post, I will attempt to take more when I redo the blue for a touch-up. Which should be in a couple days.

Thank you and until next time :)

Yours Truly,

Loving My Lips~ Fuchsia Fierce 990

Hello Wonderlandians!

I have another loving my lips lipstick for you :)

Brand: Maybelline
Finish: Creamy
Price: $4-6
www.maybelline.com
I think this color may be discontinued...I couldn't find it on their website. Also thinking back on it, I'm pretty sure I bought this color on clearance...Sorry about that...Although looking at their website there is a color called Fuchsia Fever that looks very similar...
Buy it or Leave it: I would say buy it, I love a good pigmented drugstore lipstick and this did not disappoint. The color stays fairly well, but you do have to apply it after eating (like most lipsticks). It's not drying at all, which I really appreciate during the allergy season, because my lips are permanently dry this time of year :(

Alice Points:
-Can hold it's own, you don't need anything, but the lipstick
-Not much of a scent
-Good pigmentation

Red Queen Points:
-Will melt in your car!!! (oops)

Hope you enjoyed this post and until next time!

FOTD- Watermelon Chic

Hello Wonderlandians,

First, I have a question...Would you like to see more 'neutral' makeup looks on this blog? I typically go for neutrals for an everyday sort of look, but I love experimenting with color. Let me know and I will be sure to include them more.

I have a sort of arrangement with a friend of mine, at some point down the makeup road it got really difficult for me to pick out the colors for me to work with at one given time (most likely due to the fact that I have too many colors). So anytime I need a little challenge/inspiration I ask him to give me 2-3 colors to try and work with. I have done quite a few looks this way now...

Including the one in today's FOTD. At some point I would like to turn this into a series and get you all involved somehow via Instagram or Twitter....let me know what you think :)

Eyes
  • Mica Beauty Eye Primer
  • Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk
  • BH Cosmetics 1st Edition Palette (Greens and Pink)
  • Urban Decay Eyelash Primer Potion
  • Urban Decay Supercurl Curling Mascara
Face & Lips
  • Maybelline Face Studio Master Prime in Blur and Smooth (100)
  • Urban Decay Naked Beauty Balm
  • Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation in No.3
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Powder on my T-zone
  • Benefit Hoolah
  • ModelCo Blush Cheek Powder in Peach Bellini
  • Maybelline Lipstick in Fuchsia Fierce
Hope you enjoyed this quick post and until next time!

FOTD- Pink/Red Dynamic Duo

Hello Wonderlandians,

I have another blog post type I would like to introduce to you here in my wonderland. I'm sure many of you are already familiar with the concept, but I would like to show you my spinoff (if you can even call it that).

Please excuse my red eyes...it is definitely allergy season in California D:

I would like to mention a couple things in this post, the first being that, it is a little more complicated picking out your color scheme for makeup with colored hair hahaha. It takes me a while in the morning to kind of figure out what I will be doing for makeup that day. The other thing I want to mention is that you will be seeing variations of this look, I am currently obsessed with this makeup look for the eyes!!! It's quick and easy and requires minimal 'work' for it to look amazing.

I might put up a tutorial for this look....we shall see ;)

Eyes
  • Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
  • Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
  • MAC Cream Shadows (pink)
  • Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
  • L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Mascara (black)

  • Too Faced Lashgasm Mascara
  • Nyx Jump Pencil in Milk
  • Urban Decay Browbox
Face & Lips

  • Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in Ivory
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Translucent
  • Benefit Hoolah Bronzer
  • Forever 21 Kitty Highlighter
  • ELF Blush Palette in Dark

Loving My Lips~ Red Velvet

Hello Wonderlandians,

Today I will be sharing with you probably my favorite red lipstick of all time. Now I know there has been some scandal recently with this brand, and I wanted to address it before I got into the review. I will say that I am not at all happy with the way this company has 'handled' their recent security breach... However, this does not change the fact that they have amazing products...Will I order from them again? I have no idea...

I hope you enjoy this little mini review!

Brand: Lime Crime
Finish: Matte
Price: $20
www.limecrime.com
The only efficient way to order Lime Crime products is online. I believe they are mostly online based makeup company. They do showcase and sell their products at IMATS and Beauty cons. You can also find them on other 'indie' brand websites.
Buy it or Leave it: With the scandal I leave it in your hands (although its always in your hands), I would probably buy this again, because it is my absolute favorite red lipstick of all time!!! The color is gorgeous and it is amazingly pigmented and it does not budge. Unless you eat something very greasy...

Alice Points:
-Long Lasting
-Great smelling, has a sweet scent
-Won't melt in your car
-Amazing pigmentation!

Red Queen Points:
-Scandal
-Very easy to stain outside your lips (need to be patient)

Mad Hatter Points:
-You should probably use a lip liner

Hope you enjoyed this post and until next time!

Arctic Fox Hair Dye Review

Hello Wonderlandians,

As you can see from the title post, I will be reviewing the Arctic Fox hair dyes. Just as a disclaimer, I did purchase all these colors on my own and I was in no way asked to write this review. I am writing this review based on the results of using 4 of the colors (Purple Rain, Violet Dream, Poseidon, and Aquamarine).

I had originally purchased only Purple Rain and Violet Dream (as you may already know, if you read the previous posts). I loved the color so much I decided to just get them all and play to my hearts content with all their colors.

L-R: Virgin Pink, Poison, Wrath, Violet Dream, Purple Rain, Poseidon, Aquamarine, and Arctic Mist
This post is an attempt to let you know all about the product and the experiences I have had with them. I am by no means a hair dyeing expert, but I'd like to think I learned a bit in my experiences.

Ordering:
The ordering process if very simple you go to their website and select the shade you want, it will then provide you with a drop box asking if you want the 4oz or the 8oz.

You then add the number of bottles you would like into your basket and repeat for the different shades you order.

Cost:
4oz = $7.99
8oz = $13.99

The pricing I think is very reasonable, considering that you are typically paying the $13.99 price for the 4oz size. Or at least that has been my experience.
This is Purple Rain and the stages of it fading out

Alice Points:
-PIGMENTATION!!! This dye is amazingly pigmented, you can probably have this is in for 5min and get a good color payoff.
-It smells amazing! The appealing scent is such a plus on my scale, I have a very sensitive nose and harsh smells (like bleach or toner) make my head hurt after a while. These dyes have some of the most amazing smell ever!! I've used the dye on both myself and a friend and we both seem to agree that it smells like berries or grape.
-Easy to use, the directions are very straight forward and you can do it yourself, although I highly recommend having a friend help :)

Red Queen Points:
-Beware the staining! Because of the intense pigmentation of these dyes, be ready to do some major cleanup after you wash out your hair. My friends bathtub has a purple sheen to it now.

Mad Hatter Points:
-Their website states that is also conditions your hair and restores vibrancy. It certainly doesn't damage the hair and while the colors do provide vibrancy... I don't think it did too much for my hair...Granted keep in mind that, I have put my hair through some extensive bleaching (very controlled).
Poseidon mixed with a small bit of Purple Rain and Aquamarine on the ends

Lasting Power
The lasting power of these dyes is amazing, but I have only used: Purple Rain, Violet Dream, Poseidon, and Aquamarine so far...

Purple Rain: This color stayed  in a good solid month As it faded it also turned into a gorgeous magenta/purple color (much like what Violet Dream looks like). This color lasted me about a month and a half. I washed my hair every third day.

Violet Dream: This color didn't last as long, but it did fade out nicely. It faded out to a nice pink and then turned almost silver/pink. I used a very small amount of this product and therefore don't feel like I can give you my best impression of this color.

Poseidon: This color seems to be fading out much quicker (I'm on week 2), but I think there are other factors to consider. First I am washing my hair a little more frequently every other day or every second day, because it is getting rather warm in California and I can't stand the heat, so I shower more to cool off, and that includes washing my hair, because it gets oilier faster. I also think the dry shampoo that I am using is making it fade....

Aquamarine: This is the color I have currently at the ends of my hair. The color is staying on amazingly!!! It hasn't faded. I don't use dry shampoo on my ends, this is what is leading me to believe that my dry shampoo is somehow making Poseidon fade...

All in all I am in love with this product and I am excited to try all the other colors I got!!! Until next time!
