July Random Favorites

Hello Wonderlandians,

I have for you another random favorites :)

TV Shows

  1. Dragons - Race to the Edge: I absolutely love the How to Train Your Dragon franchise. I have a cat named Toothless for heaven's sake. When I saw this was coming to Netflix, you can bet the launch date was on my planner <3
  2. Friends: I know this show is an older one, but one of my best friends LOVES this show and we started watching it together and I am hooked. The characters are great and I'm quite enjoying watching Friends with a friend :)
Music
  1. Kat Dahlia: I don't really know how I came around to first hearing of her, but her song Gangsta, for whatever reason, is one of my favorite songs or at least I listen to it a lot. I like the raspy nature of her voice and her rhythm.
  2. Melanie Martinez: One day while scrolling past my Facebook feed, I saw this lady's album being sponsored on my page. Her hair is what caught my attention, its half blue and half black. That lead to a spiraling YouTube search of her songs and they were fascinating, enough for me to keep listening.
  3. Zara Larsson: This young lady is only 17 years old, and she is making great music. Her voice kind of reminds me of Rihanna, but just slightly. My friend introduced me to her and I've been enjoying listening to her on our rides home together (we carpool a lot).
Movies
  1. Terminator: This movie was actually really good. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed watching it. I would say if you weren't sure about going to go see it, please do.
  2. Ant-Man: I was a wee bit concerned about this movie and ever so slightly confused as to why they would make this movie before any other superhero movie, but I found myself quite enjoying this movie :D I would recommend going to see it!!!
Books
  1. An Earthly Knight: This month was the month of re-reading. I have read both of these books before. I am a big fan of fantasy writing, more so if it's medieval based and has a strong female character. This book did not disappoint. I liked the story line and the book kept me engaged.
  2. Heart's Blood: The author of this novel has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I have read most of her books and I look forward to reading the rest. The characters are so well developed in her books and you literally take them under your wing. I loved this book!
Snacks
  1. Cucumber w/ Lime & Tajin: This may be slightly weird for some of you, but I grew up putting this stuff on everything. Cucumbers just happen to be a personal favorite. I'm pretty bad about drinking water, so I at least try to eat water based fruits to get some hydration.
YouTuber
  1. Biohazerdous Beauty: I've always had an attraction to darker makeup and styles. I found this YouTube channel fairly recently, but I am obsessed. She does Sample Saturdays and I have been binge watching for the last month. Makeup skills are flawless :)

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation Review

Hello Wonderlandians,

I have another review for you :) Today I will be talking about one of my favorite, if not my favorite, foundation to use. It has medium coverage and can be built up for more coverage. I have fairly good skin (although it gets a little hectic in the summer), although I do get the occasional stress or hormone induced breakouts. Currently I have some stress related breakout (yay T-T).

I use the shade 3.0 during Summer and I'm not quite sure what shade I would be in Winter...maybe two shades lighter? I will update you on my Winter shade when I get it...

=

I've used two methods for applying this foundation:

  1. Buffing Brush from Real Techniques
  2. Forever 21 Blending Sponge
Both methods work great and I'm sure using your fingers would be effective as well. I personally don't like getting foundation on my hands.

Alice Points:
-medium coverage, a plus for me I prefer a more natural finish in the summer
-last a good amount of time
-blends easily

Red Queen Points:
-can oxidize, but if you set it with a powder you are good to go!

That's all I have for now and until next time!

Yours Truly,

Velvetine Haul Swatches

Hello Wonderlandians,

I have some swatches of the Velvetines I got in my last Lime Crime Haul. I absolutely love the formulation of these and I'm actually quite excited about some of these colors.

These are Velvetines I ordered in my last haul!
I got 6 shaded in total, completing my Velvetine collection from Lime Crime (for now...). I've already tried most of these on and some have already been swatched/featured on my blog in FOTD posts.

Here are the colors I got:
  • Salem
  • Riot
  • Bleached
  • Shroom
  • Faded
  • Rave
The one I've been wearing most frequently is Riot, but that's mostly because it compliments the Venus Palette so well!!!! <3

L-R: (1st one is Babette) Salem, Riot, Bleached, Shroom, Faded, and Rave
If you guys would like to see individual reviews on these, please let me know! That's all I have for now and until next time!

L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Waterproof Miss Manga Mascara Review

Hello Wonderlandians,

I am finally getting around to writing all those reviews on products I have been loving and first off we have a mascara, the L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Miss Manga...isn't that a mouth full @_@

I got this mascara for two reasons:

  1. I didn't own waterproof mascara
  2. The packaging was too cute for me not to get it #noshame

On to the review:

Alice Points:
-does make your lashes voluminous as it claims
-holds a nice curl
-doesn't attack your eyes once it dries (the ever pesky mascara flakes do not happen)
-gives your eyelashes lift

Red Queen Points:
-not the biggest fan of the applicator wand, it's very flimsy
-not easy to clean up if you manage to get some not on your lashes...I'm not sure if this is a common problem with waterproof mascaras however.

Mad Hatter Point:
-sometimes acts weird if paired with other mascaras

8/10 tarts <3

Well that's all I have for now, until next time!

Loving My Lips~ Riot

Hello Wonderlandians,

I feel like I haven't done these in a while, hope you've been enjoying this series :)
Brand: Lime Crime
Finish: Matte
Price: $20
www.limecrime.com
This is such a great muted pinkish brown color. I didn't think I would love this color as much as I do. When I set out to buy this I was mostly just buying for the sake of completing my Lime Crime Velvetine Collection, but I absolutely adore this color!
Buy it or Leave it: I would say absolutely buy it! It is not a color I have come across before and if you happen to own the Venus palette, they compliment each other so well!!!

Alice Points:
-Long lasting
-Somewhat sweet scent, goes away once dry
-Great pigmentation, color pay-off in one swipe
-Great formulation

Red Queen Points:
-Doe applicator sometimes makes it hard to apply, take your time!

Hope you enjoyed this post and until next time!

June Random Favorites

Hello Wonderlandians,

Today I am introducing my random favorites. These are things I have been obsessing over in the month of June and I thought I would share them with you. This post will probably be slightly more lengthy, because I feel like just listing them like my beauty favorites doesn't do it justice.

TV Series:

  1. Big Bang Theory- I have been watching this show on and off since it started and this month in June I finally decided to catch up and watch the seasons I had bought on black Friday of last year, which I for some reason had not done so yet. I forgot how quirky and fun the show is and I literally watched all of the seasons I had bought (seasons 5-7) in a week...
  2. Game of Thrones- I have been trying to keep up with GOT, since it came out. I don't really watch television and I'm the kind of person that likes binge watching. I have been doing just that in an attempt to catch up. I am currently on season 4. Eagerly awaiting the dvds to arrive at my local library (curse the long hold list!!!!)

Music:

  1. Tori Kelly- I've been listening to her new CD non-stop since it's release. It's getting to the point where even the ladies I work with are humming her music around the office. She has such an amazing voice and her songs are fantastic. Give her a listen if you get the chance!!!
  2. Finding Neverland- It's like everyone I love listening to came together to produce an amazing album, if you have not taken a moment to appreciate this piece of art, do so now!
  3. Twenty-One Pilots- My friend introduced me to this band a couple years ago (last year?) and they have quickly become one of my favorite bands. I have seen them in concert once before and will be doing so again this year :D
Movies:
  1. Inside Out- Oh gosh , how do I even begin talking about this movie! First of all let me start by telling you that I am a sucker for good kid movies (How to Train Your Dragon is high up on my list). This movie took me on an emotional roller coaster, which is appropriate considering the movie was about emotions haha...anyway, before the movie even started they showed a short and I just about cried. I highly recommend going to see this movie!
  2. Entourage- On the opposite side of the movie spectrum we have this movie. I didn't realize that this movie was based on a tv show, but I have currently started watching said show. I actually found this movie quite entertaining and funny. The characters were interesting and they intrigued me enough to start watching the show.
Snacks:
  1. Flaming Hot Cheetos- These are literally my go to snack...I like how spicy they are, even if sometimes my tongue hates me for it...if you don't like spicy foods I would say stay far away, but if you do...oh boy you should definitely give them a try haha
That's all I have for my random June favorites! Hope you enjoyed :)

Hairspiration No.5~ Transitioning from Blue to Pink

Hello Wonderlandians,

I have a hair update for you all! I have let my blue fade out...Here is a picture of what it looked like about 3 weeks ago:

AGWEIUTHu
For now I have once again changed my hair. This time I am a very bright pink haired lady.

The blue you see above and in the pictures to follow are Poseidon and Aquamarine from the brand Arctic Fox. Both colors held up relatively well, but Aquamarine held up a heck of a lot better. To be fair I don't think I was using the appropriate dry shampoo. In my hair endeavors I have searched for a good dry shampoo (post to come) to keep my hair from being washed everyday (which is not good for your hair).

Things to keep in mind if you are going to dye your hair blue:
  • It is one of the harder colors to get out of your hair, when you wish to change it...
  • If you have pretty yellow based blonde hair you will have a green hue to your hair as it fades

I ended up having to do a bleach shampooing to my hair in order to attempt to get rid of the remnant persistent green in my hair. It still did not remove all of the green, but it was significantly lighter. To the point where I thought it would be safe to put a color over it.

The next color I used was Wrath by Arctic Fox. I was a little hesitant to do pink in my hair, but I was actually very pleased!!! I didn't think this particular pink would suit my skin tone, but I was wrong :)

Here is my hair now:

That's all I have for now, until next time!!!
